Finally we updated our diabetes calculator and we managed to complete the on-line version in collaboration with the Grupo Ferrer.

The calculator combines seven calculators and three risk estimators. The program allows to store the patient data and generates simple graphics to follow the evolution of the diabetes treatment and the control of the patient. The program language is Spanish but we will provide translations in the near future.

Calculators:

• Body mass index and body surface
• Insulin resistance according to OXFORD's HOMA2
• HbA1c estimation and laboratory conversion to the estimated average glucose and supports NGSD/DCCT as default, Mono-Sweden and JDS/JSCC as additional standards.  
• Colesterol LDL and no-HDL calculation together with the atherogenic index
• Blood Pressure calculations
• Creatinine clearance based on Crockcroft-Gault and MDRD
• Ankle / Arm index

Risk estimations include

• Framingham for heart and brain events
• Estimation based on Regicor, a comprehensive study that adapts Framingham to the European, especially the Catalan population
• UKPDS risk estimation

All calculators incorporate unit conversion if applicable and pre-load related values. Based on the expertise given we offer solutions to integrate health risk calculators into complex systems for hospitals and administrations.

Apart from a standalone Windows version we developed a Mac OS X widget that allows to place the calculator in the dashboard of your machine. The widget itself contains an Objective-C plug-in, in fact a browser inside the widget and a drag'n'drop file upload. Feel free to download this widget here:
