The Master Plan for Rheumatic and Locomotor
System Diseases started in 2008 with the objectives of improving
care for rheumatic and locomotor system diseases and established a
care model aimed at the needs of the population in accordance with
the principles of equity, efficiency, sustainability and citizen
satisfaction.
From the start, it carried out an analysis of the situation of
these diseases from the citizens’ point of view, which
assessed the care activity and the disability they generate; this
analysis contributed to defining the strategic areas of the plan.
In late 2008 and, especially, in 2009, working groups with expert
professionals were created to deal with these areas and improvement
actions were proposed.
The Master Plan for Rheumatic and Locomotor System Diseases has a
reference framework based on the following areas:
