
He was born in Barcelona
in 1954.
He is PhD in Medicine and Surgery by the University of Barcelona,
and obtained a diploma in Hospital Management by the School of
Management and Administration of Barcelona (EADA).
Trained as a senior registrar at Hospital Clínic, he
undertook clinical practice in the disciplines of orthopedic
surgery and traumatology for ten years, in hospitals of different
levels of assistance of Catalonia.
He has been president of Unió Catalana d’Hospitals, an
institution of which he had been Corporate Manager, and President
of the association’s Foundation. He was also member of the
Board of Directors of Foment del Treball Nacional, Chairman of
Hospital Residència Sant Camil Foundation, President of the
Executive Committee of Althaia Foundation and member of
CatSalut’s Board of Directors.
He has a broad expertise as Professor of undergraduate and graduate
courses in health economics and health business management, such as
UAB-Doctor Robert Foundation, University of Barcelona, Open
University of Catalonia, ESADE, EADA, and UIC.
He has been Director of the health sector’s consulting
Know-How Advisers, developing multiple advisory works for
implementation of improvements in the health sector at
international level, some promoted by the World Health Organization
(WHO).
